“Solitude isn’t about being alone—it’s about finding peace, whether you’re deep in the mountains or quiet in your own mind.”

Day 5

Seven years ago, we bought our first travel trailer—and looking back, we were about 20 years too late! If we had known just how relaxing, fun, and freeing the RV lifestyle would be, we would’ve hit the road much sooner.

We’re not independently wealthy—just a regular couple with decent jobs and a deep love for travel. Since we don’t have a huge travel budget, we’ve learned to embrace the art of frugal adventuring: finding deals, staying in affordable places, and making the most of every mile. To help support our journey, we’ve started selling handmade and curated items through our Etsy store and now right here on our website via our new Commerce shop. Every purchase helps fuel our travels—literally—and we’re so grateful for your support as we chase solitude and beauty across the country.

Our main goal when we travel? Solitude. Peace. Quiet. 🏞️ Both of us work in high-stress environments, so when it’s time to unplug, we truly want to escape—away from crowds, traffic, noise, and the chaos of everyday life. We’re always chasing those quiet corners of the world where you can hear the wind in the trees and the birds, not sirens or car horns. 🌲✨

Over the years, we’ve discovered these places through happy accidents, countless hours of research, and tips from fellow travelers. We started this blog to share those hidden gems with you—so you can skip the disappointment of showing up somewhere that looked magical in the brochure, only to find out it’s packed with tour buses and overpriced food stands. Our goal is to help you find the kind of serenity we seek—and now, with our new shop, to share items that reflect that same love for simple, peaceful living.

Sunlight from above the clouds

Fly fishing is one of my favorite pastimes—especially when it involves the quiet pursuit of trout in a peaceful stream. 🎣 You’ll find plenty of blog posts here about my fly fishing adventures, techniques, and discoveries. Since we’re not the kind of travelers who can drop $400 on a half-day guided trip (no matter how awesome it sounds), I’ve had to scout out great fishing spots on my own. The good news? They’re out there—you just need a bit of patience, research, and a willingness to chat with locals. 🧭

Of course, many fly shops and seasoned anglers guard their “secret spots” like gold, so it’s not always easy. My hope is that through this blog, I can help you uncover a few of those hidden gems, skip some of the trial-and-error, and enjoy some true solitude while chasing that elusive monster trout. 🐟

You might also notice some affiliate links in these posts. If you click and make a purchase, I earn a small commission—at no extra cost to you. And yes, you’ll see some Google Ads sprinkled around, too… not ideal, but every penny helps keep us on the road, fishing, exploring, and sharing it all with you.
