Dubois, WY

Wind River Lake 1
Dubois was of our favorite places. Just for the simple reason there was not that many people there. It’s NOT a tourist trap…it’s an old west town that is quiet and peaceful. If your looking for a place with go kart rides, water parks and shopping malls, Dubois is NOT the place!
We were there after school started, which meant there was even less of a crowd. No traffic, no stop lights and the fishing holes to ourselves!
We stayed at The Longhorn Ranch Lodge & RV Resort. 50 feet from the Wind River. A great place to stay, we highly recommend it.

” It’s one of the last real old West towns with the authentic feel of the Frontier”. Dubois is one of the best places for an escape in Wyoming. Just about an hour from Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Park up 26 highway. It’s peaceful in the Wind River Valley!
Probably the only place on earth where you find three different kinds of mountains in one spot—rugged peaks driven up by underground collisions, blown out by volcanoes, or carved out by glaciers.
