Day 10

Day 10

We leave Bozeman and head to the town of West Yellowstone…and we have NO idea where we are going to stay! Everything is booked up!
We travel south on 191 along the Gallatin River. Some of the prettiest country you’ll see. Past Big Sky and some of the best fishing you’ll find!
As were traveling, Deb and Chris are trying to make the most of the hit and miss cell connection and try to find us a camping spot. Nothing. We decide to keep going and try a few “first come, first serve” campgrounds.

The first couple are full, we keep going and stop at Baker’s Hole Campground. It’s a forest service campground next to the Madison River. We pull in and check the sign, it says full also. As we are turning around, the campground host flags us down and asks us if we need a place to stay. We said “yes we do!” He told us that there were two spots that were going to come open in an hour or so and told us to wait up the camp road. He said once they are gone, I’ll come get ya!

Sure enough, after about an hour, they left and we got a spot!!

We got a spot at the end, about 50 yards from the Madison River! No hookups except electricity, so we had to make use of our new portable sewer tank. Water spigot was just around the corner, so lugging water wasn’t that bad. We were in a nice secluded spot in the woods!
