Day 3 finds us still here at KOA, Palmer Gulch. Got up, made breakfast, scrambled eggs and sausage. Then we went for a drive…exploring the Black Hills and Needles Highway. We drove for several hours, seeing the sights, rock formations and beautiful views. https://gfp.sd.gov/csp-scenic-drives/
We came up to a campground, all were small cabins and the buffalo had surrounded the place (pictures below). There were buffalo looking into the windows, scratching themselves on the side of the cabins…can you imagine…”Honey, have you went and got the ice yet, what’s wrong with you”…”well I can’t, there’s a buffalo on the front porch!”
After the drive, we went back to the trailer and decided to take it easy the rest of the day. “Cousin Kevin” brought us his golf cart to ride around the park and check it out. Too big of a place to get to everywhere on foot. Chris drove, me and Deb sat on the back. Thankfully, no one got hurt. Well, there might have been a few kids that had nightmares that night. Pictures of the campground are in the lower slideshow. https://www.palmergulch.com/
