Palmer Gulch

We recently visited the Mount Rushmore KOA at Palmer Gulch with our 3 kids (2, 4, & 6) on our Black Hills vacation and has such a wonderful stay! We needed to get away and just have some time with our kids having fun and making memories. When you travel with little ones, there’s some things you look for to make sure it’s a nice getaway and that it’s enjoyable, and they knocked it out of the park!

Facilities are clean and lovely-the 360 views are just gorgeous. Our tent site had an awesome covered picnic table which made tent life much easier! The staff is organized and communicates well and is always ready to help with a smile! The amenities-where do I even begin?! Our kids had SO much fun. They spent time at the playground and pool, playing mini-golf, souvenir shopping at the gift shop, checking out horses, enjoyed a pancake breakfast, got to watch Native American hoop dancing, and had the absolute best time panning for gems! We had pizza on site one night too with fudge while we listed to some local live music! This whole place is focused on having whatever you may need or want to make your trip great. We had the best time and loved being so close to so many great places to see & experience. We highly recommend this campground and can’t wait for our next time!
